Acrostic Poem by Devontae

Check out this wonderful Acrostic Poem by Devontae. He did this as part of his Prayer and Witness Challenge. It is all about caring for people and the environment.

Wombats

This week some of the children in Room 5 have been reading about wombats.

Some of our discoveries about wombats have been quite amusing. 

Did you know that their poo is in the shape of a cube? Phillip looked up some pictures and we all thought it looked like chocolate fudge! 

We also discovered that if a predator follows a wombat into its burrow the wombat will use its bottom to trap the predator against the wall and crush its skull!

Similes and Metaphors

Anzac Biscuits

Today the children in Room 5 have been working on Anzac themed activities. Some have been busy baking Anzac biscuits and slices while others have created wreaths, poppies and art works to display. Here is a photo of the Anzac biscuits that I baked this afternoon. They don't quite look like the picture in the recipe book but they taste great!

Emmaus Story

As part of her Prayer and Witness challenge last week Marciah had to read a passage of Scripture (Luke 24: 13-35) and watch some video clips of the Emmaus story. Marciah chose to create her own version of the story in this slideshow.

Eeny Meeny Monster

This Eeny Meeny Monster protects the ocean from rubbish. He scares people who don't respect the ocean or follow the rules.
